Well I wanted to write a little bit about 2 books I have read lately, “Wild Goose Chase” by Mark Batterson, and “Going all the way” by Craig Groeschel.
Wild Goose Chase is all about the adventure of the spiritual journey our lives are called to live. This book is about breaking out of things that hold us back from anything but this chase of a wild goose. There is a thrill involved with the way we live for God and this book captures that and talks about how to get that. When I was reading this book I was going through a time that was trying, but it helped me focus on what God has in store for me and it is nothing ordinary. I’m looking for the adventure in all I do and if there is no adventure than I am changing some things to make some. I completely recommend this book to anyone who wants to take a leap in their journey and start to live the life God has called them into.
Going all the way is a phenomenal book. Craig Groeschel is one of my favourite writers. I love reading his blog and I love hearing everything he has to say, I just soak it up. I think Craig is one of the most influencial and innovative leaders in the church world today. This book talks about making marriages go all the way. God has not called into second rate marriages, but into something amazing which will glorify his name and be a role model for other couples. I love Craig’s humor and the bluntness and vulnerability that he shares. I started reading this book when I was going through a break up and even though some of it was hard to read, it helped focus on what God wants and how to go about getting that. I recommend this book for singles, daters, and married couples that might be struggling a bit. I think you will find this book humerours and yet speaking directly to you situation.
